Founded in 1907 at a meeting by a group of enthusiastic artists.
This was to be an historic meeting at which it was agreed that a society be formed to promote Pictorial Photography in Scotland by means of lectures and discussions on art.

In October 2007 the Circle celebrated its Centenary with a range of exhibitions showing members work.

Glasgow City Council recognised this Centenary year by holding a Civic Reception and Dinner to mark this historic event in the life of Scottish Photography

Affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain & the Scottish Photographic Federation
